Best Air Fryers Under $100
There have been a few phenomenons in kitchen gadget trends over the past few years --one being the Instantpot and the other being the Air Fryer. In this article, we'll cover the Air Fryer and help consumers identify the best options for under $100. In this piece we rely heavily on Amazon ratings to help decide on the best options.
We hope you enjoy and please let us know in the comments of any air fryer that you recommend!
So, What Exactly is an Air Fryer?
Before we start, let's cover the bases of what an air fryer actually is and why you would even need to buy one. Basically, an air fryer is supposed to cook food...well more healthy. It's picked up popularity fueled in large part by some diet crazes such as Paleo and Whole30.
In the grand scheme of things, the air fryer is mostly a glorified convection oven. Meaning that the air fryer is using air (wow what a shocker) to cook the food. For more technical terms, we consulted with Wikipedia who had this to say:
So there you have it. The air fryer gets food crispy using just air in a very short amount of time. The benefits versus deep fried food are pretty obvious. Those deep fried twinkies might taste pretty good, but your arteries slap you silly after you eat one.
DEEP FRIED TWINKIES TASTE GOOD, BUT HOW DO THOSE ARTERIES FEEL?
So what sort of foods work well with the air fryer? This post from BuzzFeed says that frozen vegetables work really well, and frozen french fries, but other that that, the jury was still out. Thus i consulted with my favorite forum friends from the Cooking forum over at Reddit who say that these things are actually LEGIT.
Some of the foods that they say work well in the air fryer include Wings, Fish, Pork Chops, Bacon and Sausages and ..Blooming Onions. Wait what, bloomin onions? I had to investigate this further. I did find this recipe, which seems like it could work well?
WAIT -- I CAN MAKE A BLOOMIN ONION WITH THIS THING?!?
So, sort of a mixed bag. Some call it a convection oven and some say it's the best thing since the Foreman grille (kidding not kidding..). Anyways, i'd love to hear the consensus. Let me know in the comments if you have an air fryer, what model and whether you would recommend it to anyone.
Anyhoo-let's take a look at some of the top air fryers under $100!
Note that you can go balls to the wall with an expensive, oversized unit but typically under $100 gets you what you would need..also we only included those with over 100 reviews and excluded any that looked suspicious from a review standpoint
